What is Toinu?
Toinu is an AI shortcut for your iPhone. Share any screenshot, link, or video and Toinu runs AI skills on it: fact-checking, summarizing, translating, identifying people, explaining complex topics, and more. Results stream live to your Dynamic Island in seconds.
How does Toinu work?
Share content from any app using the iOS Share Sheet, the Action Button, or Siri Shortcuts. Pick one of Toinu's skills (or let Toinu pick automatically), and the result appears in your Dynamic Island, often before you've put your phone down.
Which devices and iOS versions does Toinu support?
Toinu runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. Dynamic Island features require iPhone 14 Pro or later. Live Activity fallback works on older iPhones via a banner notification.
What skills does Toinu ship with?
Fact Check, Summarize, Translate, Who Is, Explain, Sentiment, and Shop Around. New skills roll out every month.
What content can I share with Toinu?
Screenshots, links, photos, videos, or plain text. TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, news articles, podcast episodes. If iOS lets you share it, Toinu can work on it.
How does fact-checking work?
Toinu extracts individual claims from your content, searches live web sources for each, and returns a verdict (TRUE, MOSTLY TRUE, MIXED, MOSTLY FALSE, FALSE, or UNCLEAR) with citations and a confidence score. You can tap any claim to see the full source list.
Is my data private?
Yes. Toinu processes your content through secure AI endpoints and does not store your shared content or sell your data. Fact-check results are saved locally on your device so you can revisit them. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
Is Toinu free?
Toinu includes a free tier with daily usage limits. For unlimited use across all skills, subscribe to Toinu Pro. Pricing is shown in-app before any purchase.
Can I request a new skill?
Yes. Pro subscribers can request new skills directly from inside the app. Skills get prioritized based on how many people ask for them.
What is the Dynamic Island integration?
When you run a skill, progress and results stream live to your iPhone's Dynamic Island while you keep using other apps. Tap to expand for sources, verdicts, and the full result. No app switch required.
Does Toinu work with the Action Button?
Yes. Set up the iPhone Action Button to trigger Toinu and you can run your last-used skill with a single press. No screen needed.
How is Toinu different from ChatGPT or Perplexity?
Toinu is purpose-built for iOS. You don't paste content into a chat box; you share directly from any app. Results go to the Dynamic Island instead of a separate app. Each skill is tuned for a specific job (fact-checking, summarizing, identifying) rather than free-form chat.
